The right to food was recognized in 1948 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art. 25 ) as part of the right to an adequate standard of living, and consecrated in 1966 in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights ( art. 11).


It has also been recognized in several specific international instruments such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child (Art. 24 ( 2) ( c ) and 27 (3) ), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (Art . 12 (2) ), or the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Article 25 (f) and 28 (1) ).


The right to food has likewise been recognized by various regional instruments, such as the Additional Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights in the Area of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, known as the Protocol of San Salvador ( 1988 ), the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (1990) and the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa ( 2003 ) - as well as in many national constitutions.


There are also several international instruments on human rights non-binding from a legal standpoint (recommendations, guidelines, resolutions and declarations) that are of great relevance to the right to food. One such law instruments, and certainly the most direct and detailed, is the text of the Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Progressive Realization of the Right to Adequate Food in the Context of National Food Security (hereinafter: Guidelines on the Right to Food). These guidelines were adopted by consensus in November 2004 by the FAO Council. They represent a practical tool to help fully realize the right to adequate food.


The right to food imposes certain obligations on all States not only with respect to people living within their national territories, but also with respect to the population of other States. But there are an estimated two billion people who are malnourished.


Based on law, with the intention to end the injustice that causes hunger, the idea spread pattern Basic first part of the Forum of Cultures held in Barcelona in 2004.

In 2011 the project "Developing the application required to implement the value of life in banking networks and payment systems" is selected to attend as a guest at the Campus Party Millennium held in Granada.


In 2012 participates in the competition for new ideas & PLUGGED UOC with the proposed "Value life as a source of wealth" going to the finals as an idea in the first place winner in the category of resources.


In 2013, the project has been remodeled with the help of specialized course "Design and evaluation of cultural projects ", at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC ), taught by David Rosello.
